Carpet problems

So we just spent the weekend pulling up the carpeting in the living room.  My husband already pulled the carpet from the hallways back in October, so we’re trying to get things finished before Christmas.  It’s all Jasmine’s fault, really.  I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say that we’re relieved the wood is mostly not stained and we just need to replace some baseboards.  It’s better than we expected.  The hazards of having pets! ugh

I’ve already ordered some rugs from Wayfair and they should be here this week.  Murphy, however, is not happy!  He was already having a hard time with just the hallway floor, but he was really slipping on the living room floor.  So I had to scramble around for what I could find.  We have a hodge-podge of rugs, a bath mat & even a scrap of old carpet.

Awww poor Murphy. I am so sorry buddy. I know it isn’t easy without that carpet. We found some huge area rugs at Big lots (not that expensive) when Sassy had her amputation and covered the kitchen floors with them. The rest of the house is carpet.

I love your wood floors though. They look nice.

Thanks! One of the things we loved about this house was the wood floors, but then the dogs were skidding around & scratching them up, so we put down the carpet. I ordered a really pretty room-sized rug & hallway runners from Wayfair and they were really reasonably priced. I’ll post pictures when they come.

We have hard wood and tile throughout so I purchased rugs from Ltd commodities online. They only have a couple colors to choose from but they are non slip, machine washable and come in a variety of sizes even long ones for the hallway. Honeybear can run all over the house without slipping now! I recommend them for Murphy! Good luck!

We have a couple of those that I originally bought for the hallways. Right now they’re down on the kitchen floor. Cassie is 12 and in the last 6 months or so has decided that she’s incapable of crossing the kitchen floor without the rugs! And they have to go through the kitchen to get to the family room where the door is to get outside. So… lol

I think that hodgepodge of area rugs is what identifies a Tripawd house. I still have the industrial mats in my halls and kitchen. Even with all four, I find Gator gets around more easily.

I love how each of your pack members owns their own little piece of carpet! You have an adorable group! 🙂

I can’t wuite make out what is printed in the rug Murphy is on. Something about “I’d rather tear up the couch.”

And which one is Jasmine? The quilty looking fluffy one with the bushy eyebrows??

Can’t wait to see the happy looks on everybody’s mug once your new rugs are put down, especially Murphy!! He doesn’t look like he’s too fond of your choices of temporary scatter rugs!

To tripawd owners, we rhink your floor coverage looks lovely! Is the magazine Architectural Digest still around? You should submit these photos of what a truly exquisite home looks like…..tripawd style! 🙂

    Lots of love!

The rug says, “We’re so happy to see you we don’t know whether to pee on the floor or tear up the couch.” lol
Jasmine is our Siamese mix cat. She’s 8 1/2 years old, very affectionate, and very opinionated. Apparently she didn’t like the hoods on the litter boxes, so now we have 3 open boxes and they’re bigger just for her.
The fluffy dog is Max .. he’s a typical terrier – barks at everything!

Gotta love a Tripawd house! We have rubber-backed industrial mats through the kitchen and down the hall – who needs to see pretty ceramic tile anyway? I sometimes wonder what people think when they come into my house for the first time….

Boy Donna I hear you. I can’t remember when rugs weren’t a part of my life. It seems for the last 20 years there was always at least one aging pet in our lives so we always had runners in the kitchen to make it easier for them to get to the back doors. At least when Max had his amp I was already all set up for it due to our aging Ollie. I didn’t have to add anything. 😀 Your wood floors are beautiful and I’m anxious to see the end result when you get your new rugs. Love the pictures of all of them in the hall. Murphy looks great and I see he’s still his happy self. You sure do have an awesome looking pack there!

Ahhh Murphy!!! You poor thing …. but you sure do look comfy on your patch of carpet!

I know the feeling … I have hardwood floors (laminate really) and Jasper slips and slides chasing the ball. As much as I love them (I had carpet when Shelby was going through her journey), I know that as she ages, I’ll need MORE rugs to cover more of it up. She loves my mom’s house that has full carpet!
